What a happy and fun day!! I decided last minute to do the Haleiwa Triathlon. I borrowed a Merlin road bike from my friend Amy (thank you!!!) and turned it into a race weapon. I found old aerobars and made the bike more aerodynamic by taping a water bottle on the top tube. The full moon was still up and the race start was at dawn. I LOVE racing in Hawaii! The pain was short and zesty and I won the overall women's coming in after Eduardo Sa in 54 minutes. It was so nice to see old friends and hang out with some of my athletes after the race! All did so well!! My hip and hamstrings are sore however and the run hurt. I mean i don't mind pain but That pain is just not doable. I will have a couple of MRI's on Thursday. Will be interesting what the result will be.
Went home via Laie and Kaaawa valley to stop at the 24hour MTB race at Kualoa to say Hi to the MTB folks. Wishing all Xterra athletes a great race on Maui! For sure I will be with you, thinking of you guys!
