Xterra East Championships, Richmond VA 15th June 2008

Just the fact that I was able to get a decaf, 1/3 steamed soy coffee from Starbucks made me excited to go back to the US. In addition to that, I was excited to race in Richmond. Not only because it would be the last race of the trip, but more because it would be the crème de la crème of race-endorphin-mix-rushes I would feel due to the challenge of being the most technical Xterra course there is.
The pro field was as strong as it has never been. I was in the lead group out of the water, then I did a smooth performance on the bike. It was actually lot of fun out there. I got passed and passed girls until I lost count, and did the technical parts I avoided in the pre-riding. The run was without major issues and so I was able to have solid performance to finish 8th overall. Considering the tired legs and jet lag this is as good as it can get! I am proud to represent my sponsors by being the best I can be!
